Huskies Continue the Conversation: Real Talk. Real Huskies. Real Dialogue.

The University of Washington’s Dialogue Initiative is launching something brand-new: keeping the dialogue going.

Introducing Huskies Continue the Conversation, a new virtual roundtable series designed to engage students across all three UW campuses — Seattle, Bothell, and Tacoma — through open, authentic, and courageous dialogue.

Each conversation brings together voices from our UW community — professors, staff, and even our amazing students — to explore what it means to connect across difference. These roundtables are more than discussions; they’re interactive experiences. Audience members can drop their questions directly into the live chat on YouTube and have them answered in real time, making every conversation uniquely shaped by you.

All sessions will stream live on our new YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/@UWDialogueInitiative

Our First Conversation: “Respect Isn’t Enough: Why Compassion Changes Everything”

Featuring: Professor Colin Marshall, Ph.D. & Josh Griffin
Date: December 4, 2025

Respect is the starting point, but real mutual understanding takes more. This opening conversation explores how compassion bridges the gap from mind-to-mind exchange to human-to-human connection.

Together, Colin and Josh will unpack:

Grounded in Professor Marshall’s Ethics of Persuasion work, this dialogue helps Huskies build deeper compassion, clarity, and courage across difference.

So, grab your coffee, bring your curiosity, and join the conversation because at UW, dialogue isn’t just an event. It’s a practice.
